Welcome to the Consumer Agency e-Government On-Line website

The Consumer Agency’s e-Gov On Line is an easy to use gateway for consumers and other clients that are resident in Iceland to register for online interactive services that are currently available at the Agency. It is an important part of its strategy of enabling people to communicate and make transactions with the Agency from a single point of entry. Registered users are able to submit notifications and maintain overview at their personal account of how their submissions are handled by the Consumer Agency. Anonymous notifications concerning issues under the surveillance auspices of the Consumer Agency are also available at this electronic gateway for consumers at large.

  • Anonymous notifications
    Anonymous notifications are possible to the Consumer Agency however such notifications are saved to the account of registered account holders of the Consumer Agency
  • Notifications from registered on-line account holders
    Notifications from registered on-line account holders are saved at their personal account and the Agency submits to their account information that is relevant to the case handling. Registered account holders can also require that that their notifications remain confidential which means that their name is not revealed by the staff of the Agency to any third party concerned.
  • Applications and forms
    Applications and other forms that will be subject to on-line submissions are under development. All such submissions will subsequently be available at the pages of the registered customer accounts respectively.

How do I register and establish an account at e-Gov On-Line?

A:

NOTE: Only Persons that are residents of Iceland and have personal identification numbers can register.For further information on personal identification numbers please contact the National Registry www.thjodskra.is.

If you have not already registered and established your account you should enter your Icelandic personal identification number by entering "Registration". Follow the guidelines and you will receive instantly a username and password to the e-mail address that you have entered upon registration of your account. Subsequently you are able to enter your account be entering "Sign in". Click on the relevant fields and fill in username and password. Then click on "Logon"

Who can register and establish an account?

All individual of legal age can access and establish an account at the e-Gov On-Line website of the Consumer Agency.

I lost my password!

A:

If you have lost your password you can click on "Lost your password?" link which is located at the "Sign in" or go to the tab marked "Lost password?" . Here you reenter your Icelandic personal identification number and click on "Send". A new password will be instantly delivered to you to your e-mail address which you entered upon initial registration of your account. This new password will enable you to reenter to your account again. It is recommended that you immediately change your new password and personalize it for further personal security of your account.

What are anonymous notifications?

In those cases that users of the e-Gov On-Line prefer to enjoy anonymity it is possible to submit anonymous notifications. In order to send an anonymous notification click on the grey box ¿Send anonymous notification¿ located on your right hand side on the webpage, then select the relevant category, and subcategory when that is applicable, and then click on ¿Continue¿. Subsequently you will see on your screen an overview of what you have done and your choice of categories. If all the information is correct and sufficient the clike ¿Send¿. Your notification will be processed and handled by the Consumer Agency as appropriate.
